What we collect when you order from Quadra Roots, why, who helps us handle it, and how long we keep it.
Who we are
Quadra Roots is operated by Tara Taylor, 1271 Heriot Bay Rd, Quathiaski Cove, BC V0P 1N0, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information we collect, and Tara Taylor looks after privacy questions. Write to them at info@quadraroots.com or call (250) 285-2000.
What we collect, and why
When you order online, we ask for:
- your name, email address and phone number, so we can confirm your order and reach you about it;
- for a delivery, your address, your delivery area and the delivery day you choose;
- for a pickup, the collection time you choose;
- any notes you add, such as allergies, so we can prepare your order safely;
- what you ordered, what it cost and when.
We use this only to make, deliver or hand over your order, to contact you about it, and to keep the business and tax records the law requires. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have separately agreed to hear from us.
Payment is made through PayPal. We never see or store your card or bank details: PayPal tells us only whether the payment went through and its reference.
Who helps us handle it
- Amazon Web Services keeps our order records in Canada (its Montréal region), sends our order emails, and hosts this website. Pages and photos may be delivered to you through servers outside Canada.
- PayPal processes your payment under its own privacy policy, and may store and process information outside Canada.
- Our own email inbox receives a copy of each order, so we can prepare it; our email provider hosts that inbox.
Information handled outside Canada may be accessible to the authorities of the country where it is held.
What your browser keeps
This website itself sets no advertising or tracking cookies and uses no analytics. On the cart page, PayPal's payment button loads from PayPal, which may set its own cookies and collect information about the payment under PayPal's privacy policy.
Your cart is kept in your own browser, not on our website, so you can come back to it. If a payment cannot be confirmed straight away, your browser also keeps that order's number so the page can check it again: it is removed once the payment is confirmed, or the next time you open the cart after 24 hours. It never holds your name, email, phone or address.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for at least six years, as the Canada Revenue Agency requires for business records. A checkout that was started but never paid is deleted automatically after seven days.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or ask us questions about how we handle it. Contact Tara Tayloras above; we will answer within 30 business days, as British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act requires. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page. Last updated 28 October 2026.
